From Personal Journey to Radiant Confidence
Our Story
AGLOW® is a New England–born sunless beauty brand built on passion, purpose, and innovation. What began as a single studio in Bedford, Massachusetts, in 2011 has grown into four thriving locations, a franchise model, and a national distribution ecosystem serving clients and professionals across the country.
Our founder, Kara Holden, created AGLOW® after a personal skin cancer scare sparked a mission: to offer a safer, healthier, confidence-boosting approach to tanning. That mission grew into a movement: one rooted in empowerment, clean ingredients, and an elevated airbrush tanning experience that makes every client feel seen, celebrated, and glowing from the inside out.
Over the last decade, Kara has trained more than 100+ airbrush technicians, ensuring every AGLOW® studio delivers the consistent excellence and signature glow we are known for.
In 2025, AGLOW® entered a powerful new chapter. We expanded our ecosystem to include in-house research, product development, innovation, manufacturing, and national distribution of our proprietary sunless tanning solutions. Today, AGLOW® creates, produces, and ships our own clean, high-performance blends to studios, spas, and professionals nationwide: cementing our place as a leader in the sunless industry.

Franchise: Expanding the AGLOW Experience
Through franchising, AGLOW has been able to open additional studios and grow with passionate leaders who share our mission. Our success is deeply rooted in empowering like-minded women who embody our commitment to excellence, authenticity, and confidence.
Amy Fagan brought over two decades of beauty industry experience to AGLOW when she joined in 2018 as a mobile airbrush technician. Her dedication and talent quickly stood out. By 2020, she was managing both the North Andover, MA, and Windham, NH, studios, and in 2024, she officially became the owner of the North Andover location.

Founder & Visionary of AGLOW®
Kara Holden
Kara Holden is the heart, the force, and the visionary behind AGLOW®—a sunless beauty ecosystem built on passion, purpose, and the belief that confidence is transformational.
Her journey began with a personal wake-up call. After experiencing a skin cancer scare, Kara committed herself to creating a safer, healthier way for women to glow. What started as a mission soon became a movement. In 2011, she opened the first AGLOW® studio in Bedford, Massachusetts.
Over the next decade, Kara grew AGLOW® into four thriving studios across New England, earned accolades from Boston Magazine, and trained more than 100 airbrush technicians to deliver the signature AGLOW® airbrush experience. In 2022, she expanded the brand into a formal franchise model, empowering other women like Amy Fagan, studio owner of AGLOW® North Andover to build successful businesses in their own communities.
In 2025, Kara stepped fully into her role not just as a founder, but as an innovator and industry leader. She took over the research, development, manufacturing, and national distribution of AGLOW®’s proprietary sunless tanning solutions—bringing the entire process in-house to ensure unmatched quality, cleaner ingredients, and a level of integrity rarely found in the sunless industry.
But at her core, Kara is more than an entrepreneur. She is a mentor, a creator, and a woman who has rebuilt her life with intention, resilience, and heart. Through navigating deep personal transformation, losing her father, and choosing alignment over survival—all of it shaped the woman she is today. Kara is committed to helping other women rise, rebuild, and believe in their own power.

Amy Fagan
With over 20 years in the beauty industry, Amy Fagan’s expertise spans nails and tanning. She joined AGLOW in 2018 as a mobile airbrush technician and quickly became known for her skill and passion. By 2020, she was managing both the North Andover, MA, and Windham, NH studios, and in 2024, she proudly took ownership of the North Andover location.
