From Personal Journey to Radiant Confidence
Our Story
AGLOW opened its first location in Bedford, Massachusetts, in 2011. Thanks to overwhelming support and success, we've expanded to three more locations across New England. AGLOW has earned prestigious accolades, including recognition from Boston Magazine. It also proudly holds the esteemed position of Official Tanning Sponsor for Miss and Teen MA and ME USA, solidifying its reputation as a trailblazer in the beauty industry.
Our founder, Kara, turned a personal scare into a mission. After a skin cancer scare due to excessive UV exposure, she was inspired to promote a healthy tanning lifestyle. Thankfully, her scare turned out to be nothing serious, but it fueled her commitment to providing a safe alternative to traditional tanning methods. Kara has mastered the art of airbrush tanning and has trained over 100 airbrush technicians to deliver the best AGLOW Airbrush Tan to every client, no matter which studio they visit.
The success of our first location was a testament to our consistent branding, our reputation for delivering amazing tans that empower our clients, and our top-notch customer service. Encouraged by this success, Kara opened a second location in Acton, MA, in 2016. As brand awareness grew, it became apparent that the business model would need to transition in order to scale. This realization led to the introduction of franchising.
Franchise Partners: Expanding the AGLOW Experience
Through franchising, AGLOW has been able to open two additional studios. Being able to give our clients the best requires surrounding ourselves with incredibly like-minded women like Danielle and Amy.
Danielle opened AGLOW in North Andover, MA, in 2019, and later in Windham, NH, in 2022. She grew her team and expanded her business, fostering a culture of ambition and excellence. Danielle also trained Amy Fagan to become an AGLOW owner, leading to the transfer of the North Andover studio’s ownership in 2024.
With over 20 years in the beauty industry, Amy Fagan’s expertise spans nails and tanning. She joined AGLOW in 2018 as a mobile airbrush technician and quickly became known for her skill and passion. By 2020, she was managing both the North Andover, MA, and Windham, NH studios, and in 2024, she proudly took ownership of the North Andover location.

Founder
Kara Holden
Kara’s inspiration for founding AGLOW came from a deeply personal experience. After a skin cancer scare linked to excessive UV exposure, she was driven to find a safer way for people to achieve a glowing tan. Though the scare turned out to be non-serious, it fueled her passion for healthier tanning options.
In 2011, Kara launched AGLOW with a clear vision: to offer a radiant, chemical-free alternative to traditional tanning. She developed a unique, all-natural solution that is gluten-free, vegan, and enriched with hydrating and anti-aging properties.
The success of our first location was a testament to our consistent branding, our reputation for delivering amazing tans that empower our clients, and our top-notch customer service. MEET THE STUDIO OWNERS
Danielle Harasek
Danielle Harasek’s path with AGLOW began in 2017 as a Marketing Manager, drawn by her passion for clean beauty and the incredible impact of AGLOW’s products. She was captivated not only by how the tan enhanced her own confidence but also by the way it transformed the confidence of others.
Soon after, Kara introduced Danielle to the art of spray tanning, revealing that AGLOW was about more than just a tan—it was a movement. Inspired by the positive changes she witnessed in countless clients, Danielle decided to bring this experience to new locations.
With Kara’s support, Danielle opened AGLOW in North Andover, MA, in 2019, and later in Windham, NH, in 2022. She grew her team and expanded her business, fostering a culture of ambition and excellence. Danielle also trained Amy Fagan to become an AGLOW owner, leading to the transfer of the North Andover studio’s ownership in 2024.
Today, Danielle focuses on growing her Windham studio, mentoring more women, and cherishing time with her family, continuing to inspire others with her journey and commitment to AGLOW’s mission.
